Let me tell you mine.

TAKOTA COFFEE

I made a promise to my mom as she was dying from ALS that I would do something to honor her tribe in her name.

In 2018 I began working in collaboration with a Native American roasting program affiliated with my mothers tribe (Mvskoke Creek) in Oklahoma. This program was to give Native youth & young adults business skills in the world of coffee.

Coffee is cool! Therefore creating a ‘cool’ incentive to be a part of the program.

A master roaster was brought from Argentina to teach the actual roasting methods. It was a thriving program yet was shaken when Covid hit.

We then started our own roasting here in the Pacific Northwest to keep this dream alive.

IN 2023 I suffered a brain aneurism rupture that landed me in emergency where I underwent 3 + emergency brain procedures. I was in ICU for a month & in a comma at the first hospital then spent time in their brain trauma unit. I was completely paralyzed on my left side, I lost my vision in both eyes & more. Eventually I was transferred to another hospital where I underwent intense rehabilitation therapy. Finally I was released to go home with 24/7 care. It’s been a very long road of recovery but I fully believe a huge part is due to the healthy lifestyle I live. I have eaten Paleo/Carnivore for several years. I am extremely conscientious of what goes into my body. I focus on organic clean eating. That means I know the ingredients in my foods and I am very select.

I’m also very selective in our TAKOTA COFFEE profiles. I take great pride in them.

I worked tirelessly in the development to select the perfect clean coffee beans deriving superior blends & single origins to feature here.

Our DECAF KAWI is what I personally drink each & every day! It is Organic Fair Trade & the decaffeination process is Chemical Free! It’s a Swiss Water Process that sends pure filtered water through carbon to decrease the caffeine within the beans. It does all of this and gives us a BEAUTIFUL full bodied coffee experience! One NEVER feels like one is being deprived due to it being decaf. It is SOOO GOOD!
